General Notes
Rabbit anti Mouse interleukin-9 antibody, recognizes interleukin-9 (IL-9), also known as cytokine P40 and T cell growth factor P40. IL-9 is a member of the common gamma chain receptor cytokine family that is expressed by multiple cell types including T cell subsets, neutrophils, eosinophils, natural killer T cells and mast cells (Noelle & Nowak 2010, Chakraborty et al. 2019). IL-9 is a ligand of IL-9 receptor alpha (IL-9RA) and upon binding of IL-9 to its receptor the JAK, PI3K, STAT and MAPK signaling pathways can be activated (Chakraborty et al. 2019). This can then result in the stimulation of expression of genes that play roles in transplant tolerance, allergies, autoimmunity and parasitic infection (Noelle & Nowak 2010).
