Name
Anti-EpCAM Antibody [EGP40/1372] (HRP)
Description
Mouse monoclonal [EGP40/1372] antibody to EpCAM (HRP).
Specificity
This antibody is directly conjugated to Horse Radish Peroxidase (HRP) enzyme. Compared to indirect-primary-secondary detection system, it offers the following advantages: 1) Assay time is shorter as only one antibody is involved, 2) Background is reduced as there is no secondary antibody, and 3) It can be used to detect the target protein in the antibody-host samples (i.e. Mouse-on-Mouse or Rabbit-on-Rabbit), avoiding problem related to host-immunoglobulins.Epitope of this MAb is mapped between aa 202-209 of EGP40, which is a 40-43kDa transmembrane epithelial glycoprotein, also identified as epithelial specific antigen (ESA), or epithelial cellular adhesion molecule (Ep-CAM). It is expressed on baso-lateral cell surface in most simple epithelia and a vast majority of carcinomas.
