Name
Anti-IL-25 Antibody - BSA and Azide free
Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to IL-25.
Specificity
This antibody recognises interleukin-25 (IL-25) also known as IL-17E. IL-25 is a member of the IL-17 family of cytokines and is expressed by various immune cells including mast cells, eosinophils, basophils and T helper type 2 cells. It is also expressed in non-hematopoietic cells such as epithelial and endothelial cells. As a pleiotropic cytokine, it stimulates stromal, innate immune and adaptive immune cells to regulate Th2 type inflammation. IL-25 exerts its biological function through its receptor IL-17RB, although there is some evidence that it may also bind to the receptor IL-17RA. Through this interaction, IL-25 is able to induce expression of IL-4, IL-5, IL-13 and TSLP. IL-25 is upregulated in asthmatic conditions and can induce typical eosinophil inflammation and airway hyperresponsiveness. IL-25 levels are also associated with the severity of chronic allergic reactions.
