This antibody recognises 2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthase 1 (OAS1), also known as E18/E16 and p46/p42 OAS.OAS1 is a member of the OAS family of genes induced by interferons (IFN) and viruses, and appears to play a role in regulation of signaling pathways during viral infection. The antiviral role of OAS1 appears to be attributed to its ability to detect short double stranded RNAs (dsRNAs). In addition to viral infections, OAS proteins have been implicated in autoimmune diseases and cancer. OAS1 can affect cell migration and high OAS1 mRNA expression has been linked to worse prognosis in patients with breast cancer.

General Notes
Goat anti OAS1 antibody recognizes 2'-5'-oligoadenylate synthase 1 (OAS1), also known as E18/E16 and p46/p42 OAS.OAS1 is a member of the OAS family of genes induced by interferons (IFN) and viruses, and appears to play a role in regulation of signaling pathways during viral infection (Lee et al. 2019). The antiviral role of OAS1 appears to be attributed to its ability to detect short double stranded RNAs (dsRNAs) (Schwartz et al. 2020). In addition to viral infections, OAS proteins have been implicated in autoimmune diseases and cancer. OAS1 can affect cell migration and high OAS1 mRNA expression has been linked to worse prognosis in patients with breast cancer (Zhang and Yu 2020).
