HRP Secondary Antibodies

Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is a reporter enzyme utilising hydrogen peroxide to oxidise a variety of chromogenic, fluorogenic or chemiluminescent substrates to create a stable signal. The conjugation of HRP to secondary antibodies enables rapid and robust detection of target antigens in a variety of biological samples. The most common applications include Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA), and Western Blotting (WB). By conjugating the regenerative HRP reaction to polyclonal secondary antibodies, this detection method achieves excellent signal amplification – which enables targets to be visualised with high specificity and sensitivity. Furthermore, HRP conjugates display long-term stability in storage making them the ideal choice for routine protein visualisation which is cost-effective. Note: HRP-conjugates alone are not suitable for dual-labelling experiments.
